From an educator & a mom

Hi, I’m Jessica.

I’m a math and science educator, curriculum author, and mom. I’ve taught elementary and middle school, developed math curriculum, and supported teachers in bringing learning to life.

I’ve spent my career helping children make sense of math and see how it connects to the world around them. Becoming a parent has given me another place to put those ideas into practice.

I care about my child’s learning, and I value our family time. I created Everywhere Learning to help those two things work together.

Frequently asked questions

What grades is Neighborhood Academy for?

Grades K–8. Experiences are organized into K–2, 3–5, and 6–8, with Learning Connections for individual grades.

Do I need to be good at math?

No. You can wonder together, try something, make a mistake, use a tool, or ask, “How could we figure that out?” The experiences give you ideas for where to begin.

How do I know what fits my child's grade?

Each experience includes grade-specific Learning Connections so you can see how the questions and ideas connect to what your child is learning.

What if my child is ahead of or behind their grade level?

Your child's grade is a starting point. Explore the grade bands and choose questions that get your child thinking at a level that works for them.

Is this something my child does online?

The website is a resource for parents. Find an idea, then explore it together. Your child doesn't need to log in, watch lessons, or complete work online.

Do I need to plan ahead or buy special materials?

Conversations are easy to pull up when an opportunity comes along. Some Activities need a few materials or a little planning. Most use everyday items, and each Activity lists what you'll need.

How much time does an experience take?

Ask one question on a short car ride or explore throughout a longer activity. Use as much as fits the moment; there's no required amount of time.

Can I use it with more than one child?

Yes. Families can use their membership with multiple children. Learning Connections help you explore the same situation with children of different ages.

Is this a homeschool curriculum?

Neighborhood Academy supports everyday math exploration and practice. It isn't a complete sequence of instruction or assessment. Homeschool families can use it alongside their existing approach.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes. You can stop your membership from renewing. Your access continues according to the membership and billing terms shown at checkout.
